The week we spent in Zawia Ahansal was very unique, I have never lived in a city that was so rural and beautiful. It is crazy to think that in this place where there are no real paved roads or paths that people old and young have to walk through it everyday. When I would walk up to the Sheik’s house it was a workout. The 50 year old Sheik was so fast walking up these steep paths in the region it put me to shame. One of the best things about staying in the mountains was the stars at night. I have never seen stars so vivd and clear, in the region there is almost no light pollution which makes the sky so pretty. Staying in this region was definitely a once and a life time experience and really made me see how possible it is to live on just the small things.
